Our job is not only reviewing web tools but also to make sure these reviews stay up-to-date. And since we are writing about hundreds of tools, this can be a pretty challenging task at times.
As I wrote in an earlier post, a good way to support us in this respect is to regularly send us product updates. And I want to show you some examples of that.
A company that does that pretty well is Strikingly. They send out a newsletter whenever there are important feature updates:
Not too often, not too seldom. Just the right frequency.
Other partners send their new features in a personal email, which is fine too, of course. Just don't list every tiny little update in it.
Wix, for example, goes a different route: they publish all their changes on Wix.com. This is useful too, however, sometimes it can be like looking for a needle in a haystack. And you have to remember to actually go there.
The most unfortunate situation clearly is when a company never communicates new features to its affiliates and not even the blog talks about product updates.
Just keep that in mind if you want to establish a good relationship with your affiliates (especially the review-kind of affiliates) and make sure your review stays up to date at all times.
